When landing in La Paz, the airplane unavoidably circles a magnificent and imposing mountain: Huayna Potosí. This snowy peak grants the traveler his first wave of emotion even before having stepped on land. This mountain is, without a doubt, the most accessible peak over 6000 meters in the Andes. How could one not want to attempt the ascent? The classic route does not present any particular technical difficulties. Good physical condition combined with good acclimatization is enough to ensure success.

Day 1 : ASCENT OF HUAYNA POTOSI / DAY 1 (5500 m.a.s.l.)

Grade II/AD, Max 50° - with mountain guide

Equipment check . Departure from La Paz in private transport at 8:30 to the Huayna Potosí shelter. Ascent until the Campo Argentino (base camp - 5500 m.a.s.l.). Approximately 5 hours walk to cross the moraine and reach the glacier.

Lunch. Camping. All included.

Day 2 : ASCENT OF HUAYNA POTOSÍ / DAY 2 (6088 m.a.s.l.)

Departure at 4:00 in a tentative ascent to the summit. Later on, we will descend to the shelter (approximately 10h in total). Return to La Paz by jeep.
