This circuit allows us to make a voyage off the beaten track, between the summits of the Real Mountain range and the Amazon, in the region of los Yungas. A circuit that combines the mountain and the tropic.
In only one day, we will pass from eternal snows to the kingdom of lush vegetation combining the pleasures of the discovery on foot, mountain bike and jeep.
The route that links La Paz to los Yungas offers a simply fantastic journey for the lovers of adventure. Rich in emotions, the circuit on mountain bike is known as "the road of death" (the drops by the side of the road do not forgive bad driving).
Along the way, you will discover magnificent landscapes, a semi-tropical forest surrounded by Andean summits, fresh waterfalls and delightful villages where we will be able to take a well-deserved rest.
Day 1 : LA PAZ – COROICO / THE DEATH ROAD BY MOUNTAIN BIKE
We leave La Paz in private transport at 07:30 to La Cumbre (4750 m.a.s.l. -1h). We begin at this height our descent by mountain bike. After each curve, the landscape becomes greener, the air more humid and the breeze warmer ... After having descended more than 3500 meters in only a few hours, we arrive to Yolosa (1100 m.a.s.l.). The final part, an abrupt ascent of 7km (650 meters of difference) finishes in the village of Coroico, a little slice of paradise located in the heart of the Yungas. (Possibility of travelling the final part in the support vehicle).
Box lunch (included). Dinner open. Hotel / swimming pool.
Day 2 : COROICO – CHULUMANI
In the morning, trip by the river Vagante. Lush vegetation, waterfalls and icy torrents.
Later on, we continue by jeep and we take the road that crosses los Yungas from North to South protected by the benevolence of the valleys. Succession of short ascents and descents through a route unknown to the traditional tourism. Coca and coffee plantations and orchards line our trip until the village of Puente Villa (3/4h).
Lunch on the road (included). All included. Hotel / swimming pool.
Day 3 : CHULUMANI – LA PAZ
Departure in the morning. In the road, visit an atypical fortress: El Castillo (the Castle) a construction of Scottish style that remains hidden amid the ferns and the overgrowth…
Return to La Paz (3h). Afternoon free. Cold lunch. Dinner free. Hotel.
