Day 1: LA PAZ – SORATA

Departure from the hotel at 09:00 by private transport to the town of Sorata (3h30), a beautiful town in the Yungas (2700 m Alt.), at the foot of the Illampu massif (6400 m Alt.). Approximately 3 to 4 hours of travel.

In the afternoon, hiking excursion to the San Pedro caves (4/5 hours round trip).

Free lunch and dinner. Hotel.

Day 2: SORATA – CHILATA LAGOON (4200 m Alt.)

Difficulty: high altitude trek. 5 to 7 hours of walking per day. Good physical condition required.

In the morning, we meet up with our team of mule drivers. From Sorata, we set off along the slopes of Illampu. After 5 or 6 hours of walking along the steep paths travelled by llamas, we arrive at Laguna Chilata.

Cold food at midday. All inclusive. Camping.

Day 3: CHILATA LAGOON – GLACIER LAGOON (5038 m Alt.) – CHILATA LAGOON

Departure in the morning to attempt the climb to Laguna Glaciar, which owes its name to the glacier that literally falls on its shore (4/5h). Magnificent views over Lake Titicaca, the Sorata Valley and the Andes... The effort is well worth it.

In the afternoon, walk around the glacial lagoon.

Cold food at midday. All inclusive. Camping.

Day 4: GLACIER LAGOON (5038 m alt.) – CAMPO ALTO (5800 m alt.)

Grade II/AD, Max 50º - with mountain guide

Cold food at midday. All inclusive. Camping.

Day 5: CAMPO ALTO – SUMMIT (6430 m alt.) – GLACIER LAGOON

Grade II/AD, Max 50º - with mountain guide

Cold food at midday. All inclusive. Camping.

Day 6: CHILATA LAGOON – SORATA – LA PAZ

Descent to Sorata in the morning. Return to La Paz by private transportation in the afternoon (3/4h).

Free lunch and dinner. Hotel.

In case of unavailability, hotels of the same category will be proposed. Attention, despite the same category, the quality of hotels in Bolivia is frequently less than that found in Europe or other countries.

IMPORTANT: As a security measure, each traveler will carry photocopies of their passport and individual insurance (to be delivered to us in La Paz upon arrival).
