El Parque Nacional Sajama se sitúa en la frontera con Chile. Salpicado de volcanes y fuentes geotérmicas, este sitio está rodeado además de una infinidad de leyendas y tradiciones aún vivas. Desde La Paz, atravesaremos en nuestro recorrido las famosas tierras Urus donde podremos observar algunas muestras de las tumbas de los indígenas Chipayas (las chullpas). La población aymara de Sajama constituye el perfecto campo de base para las ascensiones de largo aliento. Premio a nuestros esfuerzos, las reconfortantes fuentes de aguas termales
Salida desde el hotel a las 9:00 en transporte privado. Atravesamos el altiplano hasta llegar a la entrada del Parque Nacional de Sajama (4h aproximadamente). Nos adentraremos luego en el parque a través de una ruta que nos conducirá a la población de Sajama y, posteriormente, a las fuentes de agua termal que se encuentran al pie del volcán.
Por la tarde, verificación del material y luego caminata de dos horas para acercarnos del campo base (con mulas). Todo incluido. Camping Nota: Mulas y porteadores para los tres días de la ascensión.
Día 4 : SAJAMA – TOMARAPI - LA PAZ
Por la mañana, excursión en 4x4 hasta los géiseres. Esta zona, particularmente activa, nos ofrece un espectáculo único de baños burbujeantes dispersos sobre algunas centenas de metros cuadrados. Podremos también cocer un par de huevos en estas aguas hirvientes y ligeramente sulfurosas. Desde allí, el 4x4 nos llevara a las fuentes de aguas termales que se encuentran al pie del volcán Sajama (venerado como un Dios por la población local).
La fauna es numerosa y variada: alpacas, vicuñas y avestruces (si la suerte nos sonríe). También los flamencos sobre la laguna de Huayna Khota que bordearemos antes de retomar la ruta hacia La Paz donde llegaremos al finalizar la tarde vía el pequeño pueblo de Curahuara de Carangas. Tiene una iglesia decorada (pinturas perfectamente conservadas). En camino, descubriremos chullpas, sepulturas carangas, hoy en día vacías después de la colonia.
